Parisian Inspired Girl's Nursery
I think nurseries are my new favorite rooms to put together. I had so much fun designing this perfectly pink nursery for my daughter, Ellery. I knew I wanted a Parisian feel without doing the cheesy Eiffel tower theme so I made sure to include a lot of antique gold accents, feminine blush pinks, and touches of black to contrast all the light colors.
I first put together a digital design board so I could get a good idea of what the pieces would look like before purchasing. The one piece I knew I wanted to include was the statement floral wallpaper behind the crib. It is the Snowy Rose removable wallpaper from Rocky Mountain Decals.
The wallpaper was so easy to put up. The great thing is that you can peel and restick it several times so you ensure it’s even and matches up. It’s much easier to hang with 2 people, one can stick the strip to the wall while the other pulls the backing off.
The crib is one of the most asked about items, I knew I wanted something with gold metal but also soft accents. It looks like one of the high end retailers but is about 1/10 the price. We paired it with the Emily crib mattress from My Green Mattress as we knew we wanted a non-toxic mattress. I did a lot of research with the mattress and found that they were the most affordable option that used wool as a natural flame retardant instead of toxic chemicals and they’re also both GOTS and GOLS organic certified .
I finished off the room with a few vintage pieces I found while out antiquing including this large brass mirror which I scored for $20 and a pair of milk glass sconces I placed on either side. The little swan ring dish is one of my favorite pieces that I paired with a faux plant from Target.
I have found a few similar pieces to the antique items so you can still get the same look. All sources can be shopped below.
