Coastal Grandmother Home Design Style

Do you love a mix of coastal and grand millennial design styles? Then you just may be a coastal grandmother. This new style trend includes a heavy emphasis on the coastal design style with lots of crisp whites, soft blues, textures, and greenery. Think Nancy Meyer movies (Something’s Gotta Give, It’s Complicated, The Holiday, The Parent Trap).

The coastal aspect is not a literal beach theme – so there’s no seashells, coral reefs, or seagulls. The texture can be brought into the room with woven baskets, rattan, grasscloth, or cane details in the accessories, furniture, or rugs. The room will need lots of pop of greenery through the use of real or faux plants – palm or fig trees look best.

The grandmillennial aspect mixes very well with the coastal design style as many of the elements overlap in both styles. The grandmillennial can be brought in with touches of gilded metallic golds, black or dark woods,  navy and white chinoiserie ginger jars, and delicate prints. There’s always fresh flowers especially peonies, hydrangeas, or orchids (real is best but faux is fine!)

I’ve linked some of my favorite finds for the coastal grandmillennial design style down below. All items are on sale or are budget-friendly!
