Get the Look: Grand Millennial Living Room

Grand Millennial Living Room

The grand millennial interior design style is a newer design style that is becoming increasingly popular every year. The style is often described as “granny chic” as it’s an updated version of the traditional style many of our grandmother’s homes feature.

The grand millennial design style features a mix of traditional European elements such as Queen Anne style wood furniture, tufted upholstery, rolled english arms, and vintage oushak rugs. The traditional elements are then mixed in with fun and eclectic elements such as colorful rugs, leopard print pillows, and bold large scale prints.

Powder light blues and blush pinks are often found in the updated grandmillennial style like what’s shown above. I included 2 rug options that both give an eclectic curated look. Blue and white prints – especially chinoiserie style pottery and garden stools are popular pieces to include. I always recommend adding in some darker woods or even black to balance out the lighter color scheme and anchor the design.

Make sure to add in lots of natural elements with live plants, orchids, textured wicker baskets (or even in unexpected places like I did with the wicker sconces and cane screen in this edesign), and botanical or nature inspired prints. Last, I like to add a touch of glam with gold metal accents.

This grand millennial living room is a great way to draw inspiration and ideas for your own home. You can shop all of the items in the room below (including several items normally exclusive to interior designers).
